one week in
cybersoda's been live for a week now. figured i'd do the honest version of a launch update instead of the fake-hype version. the numbers are small. a handful of people have signed up, a few dozen have wandered through. that's fine, that's where something like this is supposed to start. i'd rather have three people who actually poke around and sign the guestbook than a thousand who bounce in two seconds. what did happen this week: the shoutbox went live, custom profile CSS went live (yes, you can absolutely make your profile ugly on purpose, that's the point), and a bunch of small stuff got fixed that was bugging me more than it was probably bugging anyone else. if you signed up already, thank you, genuinely. go fill out your profile. pick a top 8. leave someone a guestbook message. that's the whole app. more soon.

happy one week to cybersoda! i tried adding some custom CSS to my profile, but i was really struggling to make any meaningful changes. could i request that the restrictions be loosened a bit? i love the style of the site, but what i would really love to do to make my profile feel "mine" is to swap out all the existing CSS variables with my own color palette.
fixed, and while I was in there I opened things up more generally too. drop this in your custom css and you've got the whole palette: :root { --profile-accent: #yourcolor; --profile-accent2: #yourothercolor; } also fixed a bug that was silently breaking some modern CSS, and custom fonts work now too. if you want to go properly wild later, actual custom layouts, not just restyling, that's something I'm scoping out (not now tho due to security flaws that may arise since cybersoda is not like neocities as of yet). for now this should get you most of the way to "mine." lmk what's still fighting you.
