ok so if you tried to visit this week and got a weird "payment required" page instead of the site, sorry!! cybersoda was down for something like three days. it's back now (i think for good, fingers crossed).

honestly my first reaction was panic. i assumed i broke something in the code, then i thought maybe the domain expired, and it was neither. turns out this site runs on a free hosting plan and those have monthly limits i didn't really pay attention to. something else i had on the same account went way over one of them, and apparently when that happens the host just pauses everything on the account. so the site went down with it. i did not know it worked like that until this week lol

i turned off the thing that caused it and asked the host if they could switch things back on, and they were nice about it. as far as i can tell nothing got lost, posts and guestbooks and everything were sitting in the database the whole time, the site just wasn't showing up. if something of yours looks missing or weird please tell me though, i'd rather know.

i'm going to try to keep the site on its own from now on so this doesn't happen again, and maybe figure out how to make it run lighter. still learning how a lot of this hosting stuff works tbh, this week was a crash course.

anyway, thanks for sticking around. this place being quiet for a few days felt weird
