you can write your whole page now
the css support on this site was pretty mundane. fixed that part first, colors and fonts and basically anything now, not just a couple of properties. but it got me thinking about what "customize your profile" actually meant here versus the sites cybersoda is ripping off. geocities and neocities don't hand you a form with some css fields, they hand you a text box and let you write the whole page. that felt like the more honest version of what i was trying to build. so that's live now. settings has a new section called "full custom page (beta)". flip it on, paste your own html in the box, save, and your profile stops being the cybersoda template and becomes whatever you wrote. scripts included, if you want them. obvious question: is that safe, since it's basically letting strangers run arbitrary html and js on my domain. it renders in a sandboxed iframe with no access to cookies, no access to your session, no access to anything else on the site. same trick codepen and jsfiddle use. i tried to break it myself before shipping, tried reading cookies and reaching the parent page from inside a test page, both got blocked. so i'm fairly confident in it, but it's new, so it's staying labeled beta until it's had more real use behind it. a couple of honest limits for now. there's no image hosting yet, so any images in your html need to be linked from somewhere else. and turning this on replaces the whole profile, top 8, webring links, guestbook prompt, all of it, so right now it's all or nothing, not your html plus the normal widgets around it. if you build something with it, send me the link. i want to see what people do with an actual blank page.
